About the mix raita
Mixed veg raita is a staple in Indian cuisine, offering a balance of taste, texture, and health benefits. This dish is effortless to make and can be customized with different vegetables and seasonings making it a versatile addition to any meal.
Ingredients of veg raita
To make raita with vegetables, you need these items:
- Yogurt - The base of the raita, yogurt provides probiotics that aid digestion and promote gut health. I use thick homemade yogurt prepared from whole milk to make raita.
- Cucumber - This adds a refreshing crunch and hydration, as cucumbers are rich in water. I prefer grating it rather than chopping, but you can choose whatever suits you the best.
- Carrot - Grated. It enhances texture and brings natural sweetness, packed with beta-carotene for eye health.
- Onion - Finely chopped. Onion adds a mild sharpness and contributes to overall flavor complexity.
- Coriander - Brightens up the raita with a touch of refreshment.
- Salt and raita masala as seasoning. Use cumin powder if you don't have raita masala.
- Feel free to check out my homemade raita masala recipe on the blog- it's made with just four ingredients.
- Mint leaves - Optional. It adds an extra refreshing minty flavor to the raita dip. Oops, I missed the leaves in the image above.
