Ingredients
To make these frozen roast potatoes in the air fryer, all you need are these 2 ingredients:

Frozen roast potatoes - I have used frozen roast potatoes with rosemary and garlic flavour from the Deli. These are pre-seasoned frozen potatoes, so there's no need to add any seasoning.
But if you are using regular ones, season them with your choice of seasoning, such as garlic powder, chilli flakes, or salt, before placing them in an air fryer.
Oil - I use extra virgin olive oil, but any oil works well for this recipe. While oil isn’t mandatory, it adds richness. For a spicy twist, you can swap it with 2-ingredient chilli oil to make deliciously fiery potatoes!
Cilantro - Optional, just for garnish.

How to air fry frozen roast potatoes?
To make these delicious air-fried frozen diced potatoes, take them out of the bag and place them on the air fryer rack or basket.
Coat them slightly with a few drops of olive oil using a silicone brush.

Avoid stacking. Air fry them at 180°C for 20 minutes or until these frozen roast potatoes turn golden brown and crispy.

Garnish with finely chopped fresh cilantro or parsley leaves. Serve these warm air-fryer frozen roast potatoes with your favorite dip or Indian cilantro chutney!

Variations
- Using plain frozen potatoes? Spice them up with chili flakes, Sriracha, or a dash of Schezwan sauce.
- Don’t have an air fryer? You can oven‑bake them instead (though an air fryer yields the best crisp).
- Fresh herbs like rosemary, parsley, or coriander add a lovely finishing touch.
Equipment
Just one piece: your air fryer.
(Note: I used a Westinghouse oven with built‑in air fryer mode — your model may differ slightly, so adjust time/temperature accordingly.)

Storage
Store the leftovers in the refrigerator for no more than 2 days. To reuse these air-fried potatoes, reheat them in an air fryer for 5-10 minutes at 180°C before use.

Serving Ideas
- Pair with garlic chutney, tomato chutney, carrot chutney, and avocado-olive dip.
- Serve alongside lemon rice and pumpkin rice.
- Compliment well chicken dishes such as chicken bhuna masala, chicken chowmein masala, and chicken biryani.
- These taste so amazing with soups such as butternut squash with tomatoes and 3c soup.
FAQs
Yes, you can! Most air fryer brands highlight that oil isn’t required, making air frying a healthier cooking method. However, from experience, I’ve found that adding just a few drops of oil can really boost both flavor and crispiness. So, while it’s totally optional, a light brush or spray of oil can take your air-fried dishes to the next level!
No, there is no need to thaw/defrost the frozen food before air frying. Season it with your favourite seasoning if it is not pre-seasoned, and air-fry it for the required time and temperature. That's it!
Your air-fried potatoes may not turn crispy because of the following reasons:
- Overcrowding: You might have placed potatoes one on another in an air fryer, and as a result, hot air is unable to circulate and penetrate through the potatoes properly to make them crisp. So, avoid stacking them and keep them apart in an air fryer.
- Excessive oil: The other reason could be that you might have added oil in a large portion that turned them soggy. Add oil as little as possible.

Tips
- Spread the potatoes out in a single layer to ensure even crisping.
- Use oil sparingly, just enough to coat.
- For extra crisp, consider flipping or shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
- Leftovers are fantastic, reheating in the air fryer gives back much of that ‘freshly‑cooked’ texture.
