What is mangonut slice?

Mangonut Slice is a no‑bake chocolate slice made with dried mango, almonds, walnuts, and caramelized white chocolate. The combination of chewy mango, crunchy nuts, and smooth chocolate creates a layered texture that feels indulgent yet wholesome. Because it uses dried mango, this recipe works year‑round — no need to wait for mango season.

It is one of the best mango snacks that can be made easily and with just a few ingredients. Also, pre-sliced Mangonut is a convenient option for on-the-go snacking, as you can grab a few pieces without any extra preparation!

More on-the-go snacks to try include cottage cheese banana muffins, dry fruit balls, and egg veggie bites.

Ingredients for mango chocolate slice

Ideally, you need only 3 basic ingredients to make a mangonut slice. These are Mango, chocolate, and nuts. The other ingredients are optional and boost the flavor of the Mango slice.

mangonut slice ingredients.

Mango - Opt for dried mango slices as they store well and are ideal for making long-lasting magonut slices.

Nuts - Use any mix of nuts for this Magonut slice—walnuts and almonds are my go-to. Roughly chop or pulse them for that perfect chunky, crunchy bite.

Love nuts? Check out my air fryer pistachio cookies, nutty chocolate coconut bars, and healthy power balls recipe!

Chocolate - Caramelized white chocolate gives this mangonut slice a smooth, creamy, and beautiful texture that melts in the mouth like anything. Craving caramelized white chocolate? This cranberry white chocolate slice is just what you need!

FAQs

What is mangonut slice?

Mangonut Slice is a no‑bake mango and nut chocolate bar made with dried mango, mixed nuts, and caramelized white chocolate. It’s a quick, easy dessert that requires no oven and sets in the fridge.

Can I use fresh mango instead of dried mango?

Fresh mango doesn’t work well because it adds moisture and prevents the slice from setting. Dried mango is essential for the right texture and stability.

What nuts work best in mangonut slice?

The recipe uses almonds and walnuts, but you can substitute them with cashews, pecans, pistachios, or a mixed nut blend. Select nuts that stay crunchy after chilling.

Do I have to use caramelized white chocolate?

No, you can use regular white chocolate, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate. Caramelized white chocolate adds a deeper, toffee‑like flavor, but any chocolate will work.

Is mangonut slice gluten‑free?

Yes, all ingredients are naturally gluten‑free. Just ensure your chocolate brand is certified gluten‑free if needed.

Serving Ideas

1. Add it to a dessert platter

Mangonut Slice pairs beautifully with other bite‑sized treats like chocolate truffles, coconut balls, dried fruit, and nut clusters. It adds a pop of color and a tropical twist to any dessert board.

    2. Serve with tea or coffee

This slice makes a perfect afternoon treat alongside a hot drink. The caramelized white chocolate complements black tea, chai, espresso, or a mild latte.

    3. Pair with fresh Fruit

Balance the sweetness by serving it with fresh berries, sliced kiwi, or seasonal fruit. The acidity of fresh fruit enhances the mango flavor.

    4. Use it as a lunchbox snack

Pack these small mangonut squares as a quick, energy‑boosting snack. It travels well and stays firm when chilled.

    5. Serve as a post‑dinner sweet bite

Offer small squares after dinner as a light, no‑fuss dessert. It’s rich enough that a little goes a long way.

    6. Add to a festive gift box

Mangonut slice makes a beautiful edible gift. Wrap pieces in parchment and place them in a tin or gift box for holidays, birthdays, or thank‑you treats.

    7. Pair with ice cream

Serve chilled slices with a scoop of vanilla, coconut, or mango ice cream for a simple but impressive dessert.

    8. Enjoy as a pre‑workout energy Bite

The nuts and dried mango provide natural energy, making it a great grab‑and‑go snack before a workout or busy day.

    9. Serve with yogurt for breakfast

Chop the slices into small cubes and sprinkle over yogurt for a crunchy, sweet topping.

    10. Add to a high‑tea spread

Its elegant look - especially with rose petals - makes it perfect for high‑tea menus alongside scones, mini cakes, and finger sandwiches.

    Expert Tips

    • It is easy to cut dried mango on a cutting board on a stable surface.
    • Line a tray to prevent the slices from sticking to the tray.
    • To get the uniform slices, smooth the surface as much as possible.
    • Not to worry if the slice is cracked while cutting. Heat the cracked slice with some butter in a microwave. Reshape the slice and refrigerate to set it.
    • Don't add mango slices all at once, as they will stick together, resulting in unequal flavor distribution in the slice.
