Preparation
- Combine milk and cardamom powder in a small bowl.
- Trim off the bread corners. Flatten each bread slice using a rolling pin. Be gentle on the pressure; otherwise, the bread will tear apart while rolling.
- Whip thick cream and powdered sugar together using a whisk. When soft peaks start to appear, add food color, and whisk until you get stiff peaks. Set it aside.
Making of rolls

- Gently soak both sides of the bread slice in cardamom milk using a silicone brush.

- Spread a thin layer of cream filling over it, then gently roll it up. Repeat with the remaining mixture

- Tightly roll the rolls with your fingers. Wipe out any cream coming out of the rolls.

- Toss the roll into the desiccated coconut to coat the outside.
Refrigerate for 15- 20 minutes and serve these yummy, easy cream rolls as a quick dessert for little sweet cravings anytime!

Variations
- Experiment with flavors like vanilla, strawberry, raspberry, or orange by adding them while whipping the cream.
- For a fun twist, spread a little of your favorite jam inside before rolling them up with the cream filling.
- Mix in finely chopped nuts for extra crunch and flavor
FAQ
The key to making perfect whipped cream is keeping everything cold. When the cream, bowl, and whisk are well chilled, it’s easier to incorporate air, which helps the cream whip up into stable, fluffy peaks.
If your thickened cream isn’t whipping, the most common reason is that it wasn’t cold enough. When whipping cream by hand, always chill your mixing bowl, whisk, and cream beforehand. For optimal results, place the bowl and whisk in the freezer for 20–30 minutes before beginning. And remember, the cream should be cold, not frozen, for the best texture.
If your cream rolls turn out dry, here are some common reasons why:
The bread you used wasn’t soft or fresh enough.
You didn’t use enough milk to moisten the bread fully; make sure to soak both sides generously.
There isn’t enough cream filling inside each roll.
The cream isn’t spread evenly, leaving parts of the roll dry.
If the coconut isn’t sticking, it’s usually because the rolls have dried out and lack sufficient moisture to hold the coating. To fix this, lightly brush the rolls with a bit of milk to dampen the surface, then roll them again in desiccated coconut. This extra moisture helps the coconut adhere better.
No, you can not use fresh coconut if a desiccated one is unavailable. As fresh coconut contains lots of moisture, it can ruin the preparation. Instead, you can use shredded coconut, coconut flakes, and dried coconut.
Try cream cheese, sweetened ricotta, or even Nutella for a twist!

Expert Tips
- Use plain bread if you’d like to add your own custom flavors to these rolls.
- Always whip your cream using chilled cream, a cold bowl, and a cold whisk to get perfectly fluffy whipped cream.
- Trim the crusts from the bread slices to achieve smooth, neat rolls.
- Lightly moisten both sides of each bread slice, but avoid soaking them too much to prevent sogginess.
- Avoid overfilling of cream as it can leak out when rolling.
- Wipe away any excess cream that squeezes out for a tidy presentation.
- If the coconut flakes aren’t sticking well, gently brush the rolls with a bit of milk and roll them again in coconut to coat.
- Feel free to swap the pink food coloring with any color that suits your occasion or mood!
