Fresh peas or frozen peas

Nothing compares to fresh produce, but I still prefer using frozen peas as a fantastic alternative since they require no shelling and cook quickly. There's no need to thaw them beforehand as they go straight into the pan and cook within minutes, ensuring a bright color and perfect texture.

Green peas are a healthy and adaptable ingredient that can effortlessly enhance your meals. They pack a punch with protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making them an excellent component of a balanced diet.

Here are some ways to incorporate green peas into your diet:

  1. Toss them in fried mushroom curry to make matar mushroom masala.
  2. Add them into a vegetable medley for mix veg recipe.
  3. Combine them with cottage cheese and vegetables to make a flavorful, aromatic spice-infused, mixed paneer recipe.

If you are seeking vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free green pea recipes, this easy peas curry is the perfect choice!

Ingredients

To make green peas curry, you need these items:

ingredients for curried peas curry
  1. Peas - Fresh, canned, or frozen. I use frozen peas for this green peas curry recipe as they are convenient, and cook quickly. Use whatever is handy for you!
  2. Vegetables - Onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and green chilies are the base for curry preparation. Dice them finely or use a chopper to cut them.
  3. Spices - Salt, turmeric, garam masala, red chili, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, black peppercorn, black cardamom, cinnamon stick, and bay leaf. These spices balance the sweetness of peas with their warmth, spiciness, and aroma.
  4. Oil and clarified butter (ghee).
