Equipment
- Air fryer
Ingredients
- 320 g Cooked Chickpeas (2 cups)
- 50 g Rolled oats (½ cup)
- 4 tablespoon Butter salted
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon Garam masala
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- 2 teaspoon Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Combine the cooked chickpeas, oats, butter, lemon juice, cumin seeds, garam masala, and salt in a bowl. Reserve the sesame seeds for topping the crackers.
- Blend them in a blender to a smooth paste, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Transfer the paste to a bowl and knead until it forms a soft dough.
- Place the dough between two sheets of baking paper and roll it into a thin rectangle, keeping the thickness as even as possible.
- Remove the top sheet of baking paper and cut the dough into equal-sized squares or rectangles.
- Collect the leftover dough, roll it out once more, and cut additional crackers. Continue until you’ve used every bit.
- Arrange the crackers in a single layer on a lined air fryer tray, leaving a little space between them.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and gently press them down with a spatula to help them stick.
- Chill the tray for 15 minutes in the fridge.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C for 7-8 minutes. Bake the crackers until golden and crisp (approx. 20-25 minutes). Check them towards the end of cooking, as air fryers can vary.
- Turn off the air fryer and leave the crackers inside for 5 minutes.
- Transfer them to a cooling rack and allow them to cool completely before serving.
- Enjoy these crispy chickpea oat crackers whenever you’re craving a wholesome, homemade snack.
